inspired painting

I frequently get mail from illustrators and painters who explain to me that they use my pictures as inspiration. Here’s a new exemple by Daniel Sanger.

    well, asking permission to use someone else’s photo doesn’t necessarily you aren’t copying. Cause with all due respect, you are, and part of the job of an artist no matter the medium is to take old ideas and create new ones.

    But our definitions of inspiration might be different.
